Sales Up 12% for Power Transmission Distributors through November

U.S. distributors' year-to-date sales of PT/MC products increased 11.5 percent in November as compared to sales for January through November 2003. Sales decreased 2.7 percent over the previous month and climbed 18.4 percent as compared to November 2003, according to monthly trend data by the Power Transmission Distributors Association.  


Days sales in accounts receivables decreased 4.5 percent as compared to October 2004 and declined 5.6 percent as compared to the same month last year.  Annualized sales to inventory ratio in November was 7.9, compared to 7.2 in 2003.


 


For November, the confidence level ofU.S. distributors remained flat at 6.7 on a 10-point scale.

U.S. distributors' year-to-date sales of PT/MC products increased 11.5 percent in November as compared to sales for January through November 2003. Sales decreased 2.7 percent over the previous month and climbed 18.4 percent as compared to November 2003, according to monthly trend data by the Power Transmission Distributors Association.  


Days sales in accounts receivables decreased 4.5 percent as compared to October 2004 and declined 5.6 percent as compared to the same month last year.  Annualized sales to inventory ratio in November was 7.9, compared to 7.2 in 2003.


 


For November, the confidence level ofU.S. distributors remained flat at 6.7 on a 10-point scale.


 


Canadian distributors' year-to-date sales of PT/MC products increased 9.7 percent as compared to sales for January through November 2003.  Sales rose 13.0 percent over the previous month and climbed 19.8 percent as compared to November 2003. 


 


Days sales in accounts receivables decreased 11.8 percent over October 2004 and fell 13.6 percent as compared to the same month last year.  Annualized sales to inventory ratio in November was 8.1, compared to 7.3 in 2003.


 


For November, the confidence level of Canadian distributors remained flat at 6.5 on a 10-point scale.


 


In November, U.S. manufacturers' sales of PT/MC products increased 10.4 percent as compared to sales for January through November 2003.  Sales decreased 0.7 percent over the previous month and rose 14.1 percent as compared to November 2003.  As compared to October, sales of mounted bearings, standard industrial motors and variable speed drives increased.  Sales of unmounted bearings, positioning systems/linear motion products, gear products, mechanical drive systems and other PT products, clutches and brakes, and shaft couplings decreased.


 


Year-to-date orders of PT/MC products from U.S. manufacturers rose 13.6 percent as compared to 2003.  November orders increased 8.9 percent over October and climbed 25.1 percent as compared to November 2003.  Annualized sales to inventory ratio in November was 9.9, compared to 10.1 in 2003.


 


For November, the confidence level of U.S. manufacturers remained flat at 5.8 on a 10-point scale.


 


Canadian manufacturers' sales of PT/MC products increased 5.3 percent as compared to sales for January through November in 2003.  Sales grew 11.4 percent over the previous month and climbed 11.9 percent as compared to November 2003.  As compared to October, sales of mounted bearings, unmounted bearings, gear products, mechanical drive systems and other PT products, clutches and brakes, and shaft couplings increased.  Sales of variable speed drives decreased.


 


For November, the confidence level of Canadian manufacturers rose to 5.6 on a 10-point scale.
