"Buckeye Industrial Supply
has been successful in growing its business in an extremely tight manufacturing economy," Jack Meizlish, president of Buckeye,
said. "Now with the industry consolidating even further, this strategic acquisition gives us a great opportunity to continue
that growth."
Buckeye primarily sells cutting tools to medium and large metalworking plants, distinguishing itself
by offering technical application assistance and integration capabilities that maximize efficiency and productivity. With
both companies focusing on the automotive, aerospace, general machining, stamping and metal fabrication industries, Buckeye
will incorporate many of Kashway's MRO lines into its core offerings. Buckeye and Kashway have been members of Induserve Supply.
"This partnership will enable Kashway to further meet the needs of its major customers," Ernie Johnson, former president and
owner of Kashway said. "Kashway's customers can immediately benefit from Buckeye's system capabilities, industry savvy and
cutting tool product knowledge."
Kashway represents lines such as Norton Abrasives, Iscar, 3M OHSD and Stanley. The
company will serve as Buckeye's Lexington area branch and be called Kashway Industrial Supply to better reflect its expanded
product and market focus. Johnson, owner of Kashway since 1984, will concentrate his efforts on increasing sales, introducing
new products and expanding the Kashway customer base. Three other former Kashway associates will also continue to work for
the company in the Kentucky office.
Buckeye Industrial Supply has more than 50 years experience as a specialty industrial
distributor. In addition to cutting tools and tooling systems, the company offers a range of related products for machining
centers, turning lathes and general metal removal machine tools. Buckeye is a founding member of the Industrial Distribution
Association and has been actively involved in its programs at the local, state and national levels.
