Intermat MBO from MRO Software

Intermat, Inc., Houston, TX, has acquired the assets of Intermat Catalog Services, formerly a wholly-owned subsidiary of MRO Software, Inc. Intermat, Inc. is a company formed by an investor group led by Intermat Catalog Services' founder Jeff Beauchamp, Intermat Catalog Services' current management, and Genesis Park, LP.

Intermat is a provider of cataloging software and solutions for MRO materials. Its products and services enable supply chain optimization and improved utilization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Electronic Data Interchanges (EDI), and eCommerce marketplaces, by providing customers with accurate, consistent and reliable data. Intermat's proprietary cataloging methodology, the Standard Modifier Dictionary, is used daily by more than 1,000 industrial plants and facilities in over 25 countries for managing vast inventories of MRO parts and supplies, including pipes, valves, seals, bearings and associated plant equipment. Intermat's core software products, Struxure and Struxure.net, are powered by the SMD's parametric catalog item descriptions. This capability allows the customer to create, maintain and search for MRO parts and supplies by characteristic or facility, enhancing procurement and maintenance processes throughout their organization.

Struxure and Struxure.net are compatible with the leading ERP and Strategic Asset Management systems, such as MRO Software MAXIMO, Indus Passport and SAP Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager modules. Intermat's customers include Duke Power, Equiva Services, General Mills, MeadWestvaco, Merck, Occidental Petroleum Corporation, and Toyota Motor North America.

MRO Software and Intermat have entered into a partnering agreement whereby Intermat's software and services will continue to be available to the customers of MRO Software. Additionally, Intermat will be recognized as MRO Software's preferred data normalization software and services provider.

The current management team will remain with the company. Gary Johnson, formerly Director of Intermat Catalog Services for MRO Software, has been named the Intermat President and COO. Blair Garrou, a principal of Genesis Park, has been named the Intermat Chief Executive Officer. Jeff Beauchamp, Intermat Catalog Service's Founder, has been named the Intermat Chairman. "This transaction will present new opportunities for Intermat to expand its product line and better support the MRO cataloging needs of our past, present, and future customers," said Johnson.
