The average service dealer employee generates $126,851 a year in sales, according to an annual wage and benefits survey
conducted by Service Dealer's Newsletter in its January 2004 issue (908-889-6336 for a sample issue).
The newsletter
surveyed both pure service providers as well as combination product sales and service businesses. The survey was almost equally
divided between service-only and sales-and-service shops. Average annual gross volume of survey participants, including parts
and labor, last year was $2,989,286.
If you are a medical equipment servicer, you're beating the averages: One medical
equipment servicer said he does $7.6 million a year in servicing with 34 employees, for an average of $223,529 per employee.
