About Tom Gale Principal Tom Gale has been editor since 1992 of Modern Distribution Management, a subscription-based newsletter that provides insight and analysis on whats happening in wholesale distribution channels. Published since 1967, MDM is often called The Kiplinger Letter for the distribution channel. Tom has researched and written on significant trends of the past decade across a range of distribution channels, including consolidation, integrated supply, e-commerce, vendor reduction and shifts in value definition. Tom Gale is the co-author of Stand Out From the Competition! Four Pathways to Differentiate Your Wholesale Distribution Company, with Dr. William R. McCleave, Jr., published in 2003 by the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors Distribution Research and Education Foundation. Click here for order information. Tom has researched and written about branding strategies, distribution channels and business issues since the mid-1980s, when he was editor for two state Chamber of Commerce magazines in the Midwest, as well as owner of a custom publishing business that specialized in distributor and customer communications for international manufacturing and technology companies. Over the past several years, Tom has spoken at a number of industry association events and company meetings.
