HD Supply, Inc., Atlanta, GA, No. 3 on MDM’s list of top industrial distributors, reported sales for the third quarter ended Oct. 28, 2012, of $2.1 billion, a 13.4 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Sales improved in all four of the company’s core businesses: Facilities Maintenance, Waterworks, Power Solutions and White Cap.

HD Supply reported a loss of $50 million for the quarter, compared to a year-ago loss of $105 million.
For the first nine months, sales were $6 billion, a 12.4 percent increase year-over-year. The distributor reported a loss of $466 million, compared to a year-ago loss of $370 million.
