Organic sales growth was 2.9 percent. By segment, organic sales increased 3.2 percent in the Americas, 4.7 percent in Europe and 0.4 percent in the Asia-Pacific region.
Fourth-quarter sales were $343.1 million, up 6.3 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit increased 37 percent to $29.6 million.
Organically, fourth-quarter sales declined 0.6 percent, led by a 2.7 percent decrease in the Americas region. Organic sales increased 2 percent in Europe and 0.4 percent in the Asia-Pacific region.
“We remain focused on putting our cash to work through investment in organic growth opportunities as well as strategic acquisitions,” CFO Thomas J. Felmer said. “As we look into fiscal 2012, we remain cautious about the health of the overall global economy. We believe that the pace of economic growth will be modest."
