Technology & Animal Health: One Distributor's Journey to a Billion Dollars

Thursday  September 29, 2011  1:00 PM  EDT

Animal Health International, distributor of animal health products, had historically grown by acquisition, which resulted in three separate business management systems that made managing customers, inventory and sales processes a challenge. Sharing customer data was frustrating and nearly impossible. There was no question: The distributor needed a common platform. A common platform would also allow the distributor to standardize best practices and processes across the organization – a critical piece for growth in today's economy. "We needed to better understand our processes," IT director Tim Hays explains. "As we grew over 40 years, we had branch offices doing things differently from one another and using different systems, so their computers couldn't talk with each other."

In this free 60-minute webcast, sponsored by itelligence and SAP, hear how Animal Health unified its operations and built a platform for rapid growth.

Animal Health will share with you how it:

  • Chose a platform to unify its disparate business operations.
  • Created a single view of operations, customers and sales and utilized business analytics.
  • Reduced inventory by 15% after implementation.
  • Built the capability to quickly integrate new acquisitions.
  • Took advantage of new tools and resources, including e-commerce.
  • Cut operating costs, reduced error rates, and boosted cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
