Report: 3M to Acquire Standard Abrasives
The Minneapolis/St. Paul Star-Tribune reports that 3M Co. has told its workers that it is acquiring Standard Abrasives, Simi Valley, CA, a "significant rival in the metal-abrasives industry." 3M officials have confirmed the coming acquisition.

According to its Web site, Standard Abrasives designs and manufactures coated abrasive specialties and BriteRite non-woven abrasives for high-speed deburring, grinding, polishing, finishing and cleaning applications on metal surfaces.
