2019 MDM Market Leaders | Top Fluid Power Distributors

Sponsored by:

 Oracle Netsuite  Sage

The revenue estimates for this sector represent the fluid power product category only, not total company revenues. The shape of this sector has changed significantly over the past 10 years as the top three power transmission distributors have grown their fluid power segments through acquisition. Most recently, the category has expanded beyond traditional hydraulic and pneumatic into tangential product categories for a broader assortment of flow control and fluid management products.

That was no more evident than in the Applied-FCX deal in 2018, as well as private equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice’s 2017-2018 acquisitions of Core & Main (Waterworks/PVF), SunSource, Ryan Herco and The United Distribution Group (see page 4 for more details on these major deals impacting the fluid power sector).

Similar to the power transmission sector, fluid power distribution in North America remains highly fragmented with strong regional and local competitive markets.
