Meier Transmission, Ltd., Cleveland, OH, has acquired Electric Motor Repair Co., Inc., Cleveland, Ohio. EMR is a full service EASA electric motor, pump and gearbox repair facility serving industrial, commercial, construction and retail customers in Northeast Ohio for 40 years. Meier Transmission, founded in 1948, performs application engineering and distribution for electrical and mechanical power transmission, motion control, and machine safety products. Previously, Meier acquired MQN Electric from Great Lakes Power Products & Services in 2000 and Electric Motor Repair in 2003.
All-Lift Systems, Appleton,WI, has acquired Fox Industrial Service, Appleton, WI., becoming a master distributor for Coffing Hoist, Duff Norton actuators and rotary unions, the Stanley Bostitch line of industrial staplers and supplies, and an assortment of complimentary lines. As an authorized service center for the Duff Norton line of actuators and rotary unions, they will also provide the Midwest with significant repair capabilities. The acquisition, along with All-Lift's 1999 purchase of Kinetic Equipment, the master distributor of DeMag Cranes and Hoists, gives All-Lift combined sales of $10 million per year. All-Lift also carries hand tools, abrasives, power tools and other general MRO products.

Danaher Corporation,, Washington, DC, has completed the acquisition of the assets of Gasboy International, Inc., a unit of Tokheim Corporation for $38.3 million. Gasboy, with revenues of approximately $40 million, is a manufacturer and marketer of commercial electronic and mechanical petroleum dispensing systems, fleet management systems and transfer pumps, primarily for non-retail petroleum applications.
Tool Alliance, Huntington Beach, CA, has acquired the assets of Mil-Tec USA. The purchase includes the Mil-Tec headquarters location and the factory will maintain its current operations in Lehigh Acres, FL. The addition of the Mil-Tec product line to the existing brand portfolio allows Tool Alliance to offer customers carbide-tooling solutions from a range of .005 to 24" in diameter. Tool Alliance, founded in 1972, is a manufacturer of premium carbide rotary cutting tools.
U.S. distributors' sales of power transmission/motion control products rose 7.1% over the previous month and also increased 1.7% as compared to January 2002, according to the Power Transmission Distributors Association January trend data for distributors and manufacturers. Overall, U.S. manufacturers' sales of PT/MC products decreased 10.8% over the previous month and were down 9.8% as compared to January 2002. Total orders of PT/MC products from U.S. manufacturers fell 3.4% over December and decreased 7.8% as compared to January 2002. Annualized inventory turnover in January was 5.1 turns, compared to 5.1 turns in 2001. Canadian manufacturers' sales of PT/MC products grew 1.7% over the previous month and gained 1.5% as compared to January 2002.
