January 2003 sales of merchant wholesalers, after adjustment for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, were $236.9 billion, up 1.0 percent (+/-0.6%) from the revised December level, and were up 6.1 percent (+/-0.9%) from the January 2002 level.
