Both individuals have extensive backgrounds with manufacturing companies in a variety of industries and market segments. Together they recently owned and managed Precision Carbide Tool (PCT), a manufacturer of rotary carbide cutting tools for the electronics, medical and aerospace industries.
Jim Ahern (President) has an Engineering degree from Marquette University. His work experience includes over twenty-five years of technical sales, sales management, inventory management and general management experience with manufacturing based companies such as Kyocera-Tycom, Precision Carbide Tool and Hitachi Metals America.
Doug Johnson (CEO) has a Business degree from Miami University and over twenty-five years of financial and general management experience with manufacturing based companies at the corporate, operations and entrepreneurial levels. Positions held during the past 15 years have been President and/or CEO of Micro Med Machining (division of Uniform Tubes Inc., a manufacturer of medical devices), Precision Carbide Tool and finally Barrett Industrial Trucks (subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company, a manufacturer of material handling equipment).
The new ownership of Factory Supplies Company is in a powerful market position that combines their professional experience, their strong employee infrastructure, company reputation and access to the industries premier product lines, which will allow them to continue to grow their business and delight their customers.
The key areas they will be addressing in the near term will include more technical support to reduce their customers operating costs, a development of a web site and related services to include on-line ordering and expanded deliveries to assure their customers have "what they need, when they need it!"
