No one on either the manufacturer or the distributor side likes to say "no," but it has to be said occasionally.

Times have changed. In the old days there was more exclusivity: a manufacturer dealt with one distributor in a region and a distributor only had one supplier for a particular product. But that doesn't happen anymore.

Today we carry multiple lines with overlapping products. As a distributor, I have to figure out which products from those manufacturers I'm going to support. If a particular vendor is falling down in a certain area, I have to say, "No, ...
