The revamped site offers additional content and service details often requested by users, including a new Distributor Locator and an upgraded Knowledge Center.
"We understand our customers' time is valuable," said Barry Harris, Timken's manager of global products and marketing for the automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket, “But when it comes to finding exactly the right parts, it's also a matter of money, inventory, performance and safety, above all. These imperatives continue to drive us in creating user-friendly features. We never forget what customers entrust to us when they choose Timken."
According to Timken, the new website features faster cross-reference retrieval, easier application retrievals, more specific part searches, heavy-duty-specific information, a new knowledge center with resources on how to install, maintain and replace parts, and a new distributor locator.
Timken also announced it has added a Twitter feed and Facebook pages for automotive parts distributors and repair ship technicians that provides customers with tips, repair information and product details. The forums also allow users to discuss industry issues.
"Through regular news, updates and engaging content, we want to make the Timken Automotive Aftermarket Facebook page and Twitter feed a must-share destination for technicians, enthusiasts and distributors," said Harris. "With this targeted social media effort, we're opening up communication across channels with our customers to connect on every level."
