Congress OKs Established Relationship Fax Exception

The rules about fax marketing keep getting dragged by the heels without getting done. Bottom-line: It's still OK to fax, at the very least through the rest of 2005, but there are some new requirements for contact and opt-out information required. And there are some new rules for how you can get new fax numbers after this new law goes into effect.
Congress has said it is legal to send an unsolicited commercial fax to someone with whom you have an established business relationship, so long as they have not otherwise objected to receiving fax ads. Before the House acted on the Junk Fax Prevention Act of 2005 the last week of June, the FCC issued a stay of the July 1 deadline until Jan. 9, 2006.
