Global Trade Forum Focuses on Industrial Supply
December 21, 2005
A new annual trade forum that focuses on the industrial (MROP) supply chain, and addresses the dynamics of U.S. manufacturer survival, expanding business opportunities, global marketing and sourcing and the distressed U.S. auto industry, will be held in Chicago, Nov. 19-20, 2006.
The Global Industrial Supply Marketing Forum, a two-day conference, will be aimed at senior management of industrial supply manufacturing firms, and other significant channel players, said Richard F. McGrath, retired vice president of 3M Industrial Products, industry consultant and chairman of the steering committee for Global Industrial Supply Marketing Organization, which is producing the event.
With the continued trend toward outsourcing and the retrenchment of the domestic automobile industry, the global industrial MROP marketplace is undergoing dramatic changes that need to be addressed by those trying to serve the industry, both domestically and worldwide," McGrath said. "The old rules governing businesses are gone forever. The GISMO Forum will address the present and the future in a way that has never been done in the past."
McGrath said the GISMO Forum will present a wide range of world-class speakers as well as exclusive research results designed to put industry performance in perspective, and guide manufacturers and major trading partners in future planning.
Two of the major strategic partners in GISMO are:
Reed Business Inc., of Waltham, MA, a multibillion-dollar international publisher, trade show producer and market research organization, which publishs Industrial Distribution Magazine, Supply Chain Management Review, Purchasing, Logistics Management and other major trade magazines.
Thomas Associates Inc. of Cleveland, OH, a firm with more than 90 years of industry experience in association management companies. It currently manages eight manufacturer trade organizations in the industrial supply arena.
Details on the GISMO Forum will be released in coming weeks. For more information, contact Charles M. Stokinger of Thomas Associates at 216-241-7333 or [email protected]
