Carlisle Companies Inc. (NYSE: CSL), Charlotte, NC, reported sales for the second quarter of $859.5 million, up 8.4 percent year-over-year. Organic sales increased 8 percent. Profit increased to $75.2 million from $8.2 million in the second quarter 2013.
For the first six months of the year, sales were $1.5 billion, up 6.2 percent over the prior-year period. Organic sales increased 5.8 percent. Profit increased 75.1 percent to $111 million.
“CIT (Carlisle interconnect technologies) and CCM (Carlisle construction materials) continue to be the primary drivers of this year’s sales growth as the outlook for the aerospace and commercial construction markets remain favorable," said David Roberts, president and CEO.
Carlisle construction materials sales for the quarter increased 9.2 percent year-over-year, reflecting higher demand for roofing systems and polyiso applications, partially offset by lower selling price.
Interconnect technology sales were up 11.3 percent. Brake & friction sales increased 4.3 percent in the quarter, while food service product sales were up 2.1 percent.
