The U.S. goods and services deficit was $46.3 billion in June, up 3.2 billion from revised May figure, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, through the Department of Commerce. June exports were $213.8 billion, $1.5 billion less than May exports. June imports were $260.2 billion, $1.6 billion more than May imports.
Year-over-year, the average goods and services deficit decreased $0.4 billion from the three months ending in June 2017. Average exports of goods and services increased $20.2 billion and average imports of goods and services increased $19.9 billion.
Year-to-date, the goods and services deficit increased $19.6 billion, or 7.2 percent. Exports increased 9 percent. Imports increased 8.6 percent.
Imports of goods increased $1.4 billion to $212 billion in June and imports of services increased $0.2 billion to $48.1 billion.
Exports of goods decreased $1.7 billion to $143.2 billion in June and exports of services increased $0.2 billion to $70.6 billion.
