I’m delighted to welcome our newest MDM team member, Donnie Williamson as Analytics Manager. He joins our seasoned MDM Analytics group as we feel fortunate to wrap up a growth year in 2020 and increase the value and analytics depth we bring to our customers in 2021.
Donnie was previously at McNaughton-McKay Electric Company, Madison Heights, Michigan, where he had been Corporate Manager, Data & Analytics for five years. McNaughton-McKay ranks No. 9 on MDM’s 2020 Top Electrical Distributors List with 2019 revenues of $1.5 billion.
Donnie started at McNaughton-McKay in 2005 as a Warehouse Associate and migrated into increasingly complex technology specialist and management roles – database management, business intelligence, data warehousing, e-commerce and ERP integrations. Donnie has walked in the shoes of our MDM Analytics customers in their respective analytics development journeys. His most recent role at McNaughton-McKay included that of market analyst, where he oversaw the evaluation, procurement and analysis of external market data to provide actionable guidance to sales management teams – our sweet spot at MDM Analytics and why Donnie has already hit the ground running with our team and customers.
Implementing effective analytics programs goes far beyond the data crunching and analysis. Donnie has great ability in project management and communication for analytics projects, which are critical to the success of driving the use of analytics across any organization and getting maximum results. He managed a diverse, multi-location-based team responsible for managing product, vendor and external market data across various systems including ERP, e-commerce PIM and strategy pricing/sales platforms.
In 2016, Donnie was named to the Electrical Distributor (tED) Magazine’s 30 Under 35 List, which honors professionals in the electrical industry who “have the initiative, drive, integrity and creativity to move the industry forward in the decades to come.” I couldn’t agree more! Donnie’s passion and enthusiasm for the power of analytics makes him a perfect fit for his role at MDM, and we are grateful and excited to leverage his strong operational knowledge and analytic capabilities for our customers.
