DXP Enterprises (NASDAQ: DXPE) continued its expansion in services through a number of acquisitions in 2012. In its annual report, the distributor reported that due to the general economy and oil and gas exploration and production business remaining positive, the distributor grew sales in 2012 and headcount, in part due to acquisitions. Sales by businesses acquired in 2012 accounted for $86.3 million of 2012 sales. On a same-store basis, excluding businesses acquired in 2011 and 2012, sales in 2012 still grew nearly 12 percent from 2011. Most of this growth came from customers in oilfield service, oil and gas exploration and production, mining, manufacturing and petrochemical processing.
DXP Enterprises is organized into three business segments: Service Centers, Supply Chain Services and Innovative Pumping Solutions.
