Applied Industrial Technologies acquired eight companies in calendar 2012, some of which supported the distributor’s strategy to strengthen its position in fluid power. The distributor also aims to build out its maintenance supplies capabilities. In addition, Applied Industrial Technologies expanded in Canada and bought manufacturer SKF’s distribution businesses in Australia and New Zealand. “This acquisition expands Applied’s global capabilities and provides and excellent foundation for growth. SKF Is one of the largest bearing suppliers in those markets, and we see significant growth prospects through the addition of complementary product lines and solutions,” according to Applied’s company fact sheet, available at applied.com.
