You can add another company to Envoy Solutions’ lengthy 2022 merger-and-acquisition portfolio. The Illinois-based jan-san, foodservice and packaging supplies distributor announced Nov. 11 its acquisition of Surtec Inc. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Envoy was named a Top Jan-San Distributor in Modern Distribution Management’s 2022 Top Distributors list.

Surtec is a California-based manufacturer and distributor of specialty maintenance chemicals for the commercial and industrial cleaning industry, and also provides cleaning equipment service and repair. The acquisition of Surtec is a “key strategic initiative” that enhances Envoy’s position as a leading janitorial service and repair distributor in the U.S., according to a news release. Through the acquisition, Envoy becomes the exclusive distributor of Surtec chemicals.

Between Surtec and Florida-based Janitor’s Closet, which Envoy acquired in September, Envoy now has more than 30 service and repair locations across the U.S., according to the release.

“By adding new capabilities to our janitorial service and repairs business, we will better serve our clients and help them solve a wide range of the industry’s toughest challenges,” Envoy CEO Mark Fisher said. “As we continue to build momentum across the country, our clients will benefit from greater resources, cost-effective solutions, and timely responses that will keep their operations running more efficiently than ever.”

The acquisition of Surtec comes less than a week after Envoy acquired Pennsylvania-based United Packaging. Envoy, which also made a big splash in October by acquiring seven Michigan-based companies, now sits at 20 acquisitions on the year.
