Houston Wire & Cable’s Sales Up 11%

Distributor reports solid Q3, as project sales rise 13 percent and MRO sales rise 10 percent.

Houston Wire & Cable Co. (NASDAQ: HWCC), Houston, TX, reported third-quarter sales of $90.1 million, up 10.9 percent compared to the same period a year ago. The company reported net income of $2.5 million for the quarter, compared with a net loss of $1.7 million a year ago.

Sales in the company’s project business–which targets end markets for utility power generation, environmental compliance, engineering and construction, industrials, and mechanical wire rope–rose an estimated 13 percent while MRO sales rose 10 percent, the company said.
