Based in Helena, Montana, IT&M Division provides fire suppression and sprinkler system testing, maintenance and installation for commercial and multi-family residential properties. IT&M services fire sprinkler systems, backflow preventers, standpipes and hydrants.
The acquisition enables Pye-Barker — which has long served Montana through its fire alarm and security division — to now offer sprinkler testing, maintenance and installation to the area’s clients, according to a news release.
“This acquisition was a strategic opportunity for Pye-Barker to enhance our service delivery to now provide fully integrated life safety services to Montana and surrounding markets,” Pye-Barker CEO Bart Proctor said in the release. “We’re honored to continue the legacy of IT&M and the Briceno family.”
“IT&M has always stood for quality work and a strong commitment to excellent customer service, and I know Pye-Barker holds these same values,” IT&M president Kevin Briceno said in the release. “As a family-operated business, we’re proud to take this next step to be part of Pye-Barker.”
The acquisition comes a week after Pye-Barker issued an open call to sellers as the distributor looks to continue its aggressive expansion. Pye-Barker made 23 acquisitions in 2022, including South Dakota-based Justice Fire & Safety in December and Wyoming-based ComTronix in November, and has already been active in 2023, acquiring New Jersey-based Bevan Security Systems in January.
