Foundation Building Materials Sales Down 7.7% in 3Q

Average daily net sales decreased 9.2% and profit was down 7.1% for the building materials distributor in the third quarter.

Foundation Building Materials Inc. (NYSE: FBM) Tustin, California, reported sales for third quarter of $521.3 million, a decrease of 7.7% compared to the prior year period. Average daily net sales decreased 9.2%, and average daily base business net sales decreased 11% over the prior-year period. Profit was $11.8 million, down 7.1% from the previous year’s quarter.

For the first nine months, sales of $1.5 billion were down 6.6% from the same period of 2019. Profit of $36 million was up 16.8% from 2019.
