Summit Electric Supply has released Summit Mobile, a new mobile application that makes it faster to find products on the company’s e-commerce website.
With Summit Mobile, electricians can scan product bar codes while they’re in the field and quickly find any of the items available on Summit’s website. The bar code scan launches directly to that product’s information page on and the scanned item can be added to a cart for an order, saved to a list or shared with others. The site displays each product’s real-time pricing and availability at any of Summit’s locations. Electricians with a Summit business account can also see account-specific pricing.
“The app integrates seamlessly with Summit’s mobile optimized e-commerce site, which gives electricians quick access to the materials they need," said Sheila Hernandez, Summit’s vice president of marketing. "With Summit Mobile, users can easily scan product bar codes instead of manually entering long, complex, or confusing part numbers.”
Summit Mobile is now available for Android devices 2.3 and up and for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices with iOS 5.0 or later. Users can download the app for free from Google Play, the App Store, or by visiting www.summit.com/mobile.
