Acklands-Grainger, Toronto, Ontario, has agreed to acquire WFS Enterprises Inc., a distributor of tools and supplies to industrial markets in southern Ontario and in some locations in the U.S. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded as Windsor Factory Supply in Windsor, Ontario, WFS has 12 locations – 10 in Ontario and one each in Michigan and South Carolina. WFS’s sales in 2013 were C$90 million (US$87 million).

“This acquisition will create greater customer value through a broader product offering, additional solutions and technical expertise relevant to the manufacturing sector,” said Court Carruthers, Group President, Americas, Grainger.

Acklands-Grainger Inc. has 171 branches and six distribution centers.
