Safety products manufacturer Brady Corp. (NYSE: BRC), Milwaukee, WI, reported sales for the third quarter of $290.2 million, a decrease of 6.3 percent year-over-year. Profit decreased 28.5 percent to $17.2 million.
Organic sales increased 1.7 percent for the quarter, with a 3 percent increase in identification solutions and 1.1 percent decrease in workplace safety.
For the first nine months of the fiscal year, sales were $883.1 million, a 2.8 percent decrease from the same period the previous year. Profit decreased 34.2 percent to $42.4 million.
Organic sales increased 1.8 percent year-to-date, with increases of 2.4 percent in identification solutions and 0.6 percent in workplace safety.
