Timken Sales Down 10.2% in 3Q

Year-to-date sales down 6.7 percent year-over-year.

The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR), North Canton, OH, reported sales for the third quarter of $707.4 million, down 10.2 percent year-over-year. Profit was $63.4 million, as compared to a net loss of $21.9 million last year.

Mobile industries sales in the third quarter decreased 3 percent year-over-year to $396.4 million. Process industries sales decreased 14 percent to $311 million.

Year-to-date sales were $2.2 billion, down 6.7 percent over the prior-year period. The company reported a loss of $35.1 million, down from a profit of $124.3 million for the same period last year.
