UFPI Affiliate Agrees to Acquire Idaho Western

Acquisition expands company's geographic reach.

A subsidiary of Universal Forest Products Inc. (NASDAQ: UFPI), Grand Rapids, MI, has agreed to acquire Idaho Western Inc., Nampa, ID.

Idaho Western, with annual sales of $21 million, is a distributor of products for building materials retailers and the manufactured housing and recreational vehicle industries in the Northwest.

UFPI’s Caldwell, ID, operation, which supplies lumber products to the manufactured housing and recreational vehicle industries, will be consolidated into Idaho Western.

“This strategic acquisition will allow us to bolster our foothold in the manufactured housing and retail markets by expanding our product offering and our geographic reach,” said UFPI CEO Matthew J. Missad.
