United Rentals Reports Q3 Results

Sales rise to $2.12 billion; results do not reflect pending acquisition of BlueLine Rentals, expected in Q4.

United Rentals, Inc. (NYSE: URI), Stamford, CT, reported sales of $2.12 billion for the third quarter, compared with $1.766 billion a year ago. Earnings were $333 million, compared with $199 million a year ago.

The results reflect United Rentals recent acquisitions, including the July 2018 purchase of BakerCorp. They do not include the company’s pending acquisition of rental equipment company BlueLine, announced in September. United Rentals said it will acquire BlueLine for $2.1 billion in cash; the deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
