Bunzl plc continued its acquisitive year in October with three acquisitions – one each in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Czech Republic – highlighting a month that saw M&A volume in distribution increase slightly but not at the pace that many projected.
The international distribution and outsourcing group has now completed 12 acquisitions in 2016. The company last month acquired Tri-Star Packaging Supplies, which is based near London and has three other branches in England and Scotland.
It acquired Kingsbury Packaging, Limavady, Northern Ireland, which supplies food packaging related products to convenience stores and food retailers in Ireland.
And it acquired Blyth, a Prague-based distributor of a broad range of personal protection equipment to a variety of end user customers throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Building materials distribution was the busiest sector for M&A in October, with a handful of deals.
Aluminum and building products distributor Town & Country Industries, a division of building products distributor ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, WI, acquired Ace Aluminum Distributors Inc., Casselberry, FL, a distributor of pool and patio products.
SRS Distribution, McKinney, TX, a roofing distribution holding company, acquired MidSouth Building Supply of Maryland Inc., an independent distributor of windows, kitchen cabinetry, siding, and residential roofing & accessories, servicing the Washington D.C., Baltimore, MD, and Wilmington, DE, metropolitan areas.
And Guardian Building Products, Greenville, SC, acquired Hawkeye Building Distributors, Rock Island, IL, a distributor of building material and hardline roofing and millwork products that serves independent retail lumber yards in the Midwest.
