The Timken Co. (NYSE: TKR), Canton, OH, has awarded seven new TimkenSteel scholars with $145,000 in scholarship funds through its TimkenSteel Charitable Fund, the company said.
The award recipients are high school seniors, all children of TimkenSteel Corp. employees. The students can use the funds for the academic pursuit of their choice at any accredited university, the company said. The students competed for the scholarships via an application process open to Timken employees worldwide.
The TimkenSteel Charitable Fund was launched in 2014. Timken’s tradition of awarding scholarships to employees' children dates to 1958, the company said.
