Swiss fasteners distributor Bossard reported third quarter sales of CHF 93.9 million (US$92.4 million), down 32.8% from the prior year. Year-to-date, sales were CHF 299.8 million (US$295 million), down 31.8%.

In America, sales fell to CHF 23.8 million (US$ 22.7 million), down 35.9%. The decline was primarily attributable to lower demand from one major customer. In the first nine months of 2009 sales in America totaled CHF 87.6 million (US$ 79.3 million), down 24.5%.
Sales in Asia fell 21.7% to CHF 15.5 million (US$15.2 million). Though still negative, the decrease was significantly lower than the declines experienced in the first half of 2009.
