Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), Santa Ana, CA, technology distributor, reported sales for the fiscal 2009 ended Jan. 2, 2010, were $29.5 billion, down 14% from the same period a year ago.
Sales for North America were $12.33 billion, a 13% decrease; $9.5 billion for EMEA, a 13% decrease; $6.2 for Asia-Pacific, down 10%; and $1.5 billion for Latin America, down 16%.
Profit for the year was $202.1 million, compared with a net loss in 2008.
Worldwide sales for the fourth quarter were $8.81 billion, an increase of 1% compared with the prior-year period. The translation of relatively stronger foreign currencies had a positive effect of six percentage points.
Fourth-quarter profit was $107 million.
In the fourth quarter, North America sales were $3.6 billion, down 5%; EMEA sales grew 4% to $3.1 billion; Asia-Pacific sales grew 16% to $1.7 billion; and Latin America sales were $446 million, a decline of 2%.
