Pentair plc (NYSE: PNR), Manchester, UK, reported second quarter sales of $1.3 billion, a year-over-year decrease of 2.8 percent. Profit increased 84.7 percent to $263.7 million.

Water sales (including filtration & process, flow technologies and aquatic & environmental systems) were down 1.1 percent to $753.7 million. Electrical sales (including enclosures, thermal management and electrical & fastening solutions) were down 5.1 percent to $513.2 million.

For the first six months, sales were $2.4 billion, down 1.7 percent from the prior-year period. Profit increased 40.5 percent to $351.5 million.
