Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE: WY), Federal Way, WA, today reported sales for the second quarter of $1.8 billion, an increase of 28.6 percent over second quarter 2009. Profit for the forest products company was $14 million, compared with a loss of $106 million for the same period a year ago.

\”In the second quarter we returned to profitability and all businesses were cash positive from operations,\” said Dan Fulton, president and CEO.
For the first six months, sales were $3.2 billion, up 18.5 percent from the prior year period. Net loss attributable to Weyerhaeuser was $6 million, compared to a recorded loss of $370 million a year ago.
