Sysco Acquires North Star Seafood

Acquisition strengthens company's presence in Florida.

Foodservice distributor Sysco Corp. (NYSE:SYY), Houston, TX, has acquired Florida-based North Star Seafood. Terms were not disclosed.

North Star Seafood, with $128 million in annual sales, distributes fresh and frozen seafood to local, wholesale, cruise, export and retail customers throughout Florida.

The acquisition will strengthen Sysco's presence in Florida. All North Star employees and management will remain in place.
