VWR Appoints New President & CEO

Manuel Brocke-Benz will succeed former president and CEO John Ballbach.

VWR International LLC, Radnor, PA, a global laboratory supply and distribution company, has appointed Manuel Brocke-Benz as president and CEO, effective immediately.

Brocke-Benz had been serving as interim CEO while the board of directors searched for a replacement for former president and CEO John Ballbach. With more than 25 years of VWR experience, Brocke-Benz has held various leadership positions in Europe and North America. For the past nine years he served as senior vice president and managing director of VWR's European Lab Distribution and Services business. He was appointed to the board of directors in September 2012.

The distributor has initiated a search for a new senior vice president and managing director of Europe, considering both internal and external candidates.

VWR International had worldwide sales of $4.1 billion in 2011.
