The latest issue of MDM’s premium content, out Sept. 10, is now available at mdm.com.
In it, I wrote about the potential for distributors in alternative energy markets. The topic has drawn a lot of interest from many distribution segments. Many want to know which of the fast-growing markets will maintain their strength and which could fizzle. In the Sept. 25 issue of MDM, we will continue our look at these markets with how and why some distributors have jumped into alternative energy markets with both feet, while others wait and see whether the markets will continue their amazing growth.
Also in the Sept. 10 issue, we feature a sister article on a topic we thought would be simpler to cover than it actually was: the Smart Grid. MDM found in its research and in visiting with distributors and manufacturers that many did not have a good grasp of the Smart Grid and what role if any they could play in it. In fact, even from those who are involved in Smart Grid initiatives, it was difficult to get a clear response to this question: What is the Smart Grid? The concept is still in development. You can check out the resulting article, by Associate Editor Jenel Stelton-Holtmeier, here.
In his twice-monthly commentary, Publisher Tom Gale looks at emerging opportunities for distributors as the economy recovers.
