Grainger Inc. (NYSE: GWW), Chicago, IL, has modified its structure and created a new Americas business to provide greater focus and a more consistent integrated approach to pursue growth opportunities.
The newly formed Americas business will include Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Colombia and Peru. It will be led by Court Carruthers, senior vice president and group president for the Americas. Carruthers previously served as senior vice president and president of Grainger U.S.
DG Macpherson, senior vice president and group president of global supply chain and international business, will lead Grainger's emerging operations, which include the company's high potential businesses in Brazil, Europe and Asia, as well as its supply chain, company strategy and the single-channel online business model currently operating in Japan and the U.S, which Grainger plans to expand globally. Macpherson's prior role was senior vice president and president of global supply chain and company strategy.
President and CEO Jim Ryan said the changes will help Grainger to drive more integration across the organization. Mike Pulick, previously senior vice president and president of Grainger International, is leaving Grainger at the end of September to pursue a chief executive role.
With 2012 sales of $9 billion, Grainger ranked No. 2 on MDM’s 2013 list of top industrial distributors.
