Zilliant, provider of price optimization and management software for manufacturing, high-tech, distribution and industrial service companies, has formed a strategic alliance with Advanous, a provider of pricing and margin management solutions to distributors.
We have identified the opportunity to merge that enterprise pricing software with distribution domain expertise,” says Jon Ladle, president of Advanous. “We looked at what our technology does and what PROS, and Zilliant and others do, and we’ve found it to be complementary and not competitive in nature. As we looked at what additional value we can bring to distributors it’s a natural extension of what we do to work with those vendors to maximize the value of their software to help distribution customers.”
The alliance focuses on the distribution sector of Zilliant’s business and leverages distribution-focused Advanous’industry expertise. Advanous works with distributors on finding the right solution to their pricing needs -whether that be selling them Advanous’ on-demand solution, which requires less IT investment from the customer, or consulting on finding a different solution -such as larger enterprise pricing solutions from providers such as Zilliant.
“Once (distributors) get to a certain level, our software doesn’t have the depth and breadth that many want to move to the next level. At that point, we see our customers start looking at enterprise pricing applications,” Ladle said. “What we have recognized that to take full advantage of pricing large distributors will need to go down that large enterprise pricing software route, and we can help them because it’s not just software you unwrap and put into your PC.
“Each distribution vertical is different. There are components and processes that need to be understood, and if they are the process can be much smoother and bring more value.”
Advanous will help Zilliant implement, integrate and maximize the value of Zilliant Precision Pricing Suite (ZPPS). Advanous has been working with distributors since 1999.
