Industrial Careers Pathway’s New Site Targets Right Audience

ICP launches revamp of industrialcareerspathway.org at PTDA/FPDA annual meeting.

The Industrial Careers Pathway is an alliance of organizations and associations committed to creating awareness of and opportunity in industrial distribution. The target: young people.

At the Power Transmission Distributors Association’s annual Industry Summit, going on this week in San Diego, the ICP introduced the revamp of its Web site, industrialcareerspathway.org. The revamp was not just a cosmetic shift. It was a shift in mindset for the alliance. The site is now geared toward young people at the start of their careers (or even earlier!). Before the site was more generic and aimed at building awareness of the initiative. As SKF’s director of channel management Terry Knight says in a press release about the revamped site: "The ICP Web site will be the first exposures many young adults will have to the industry. So we have designed it to provide all the information and resources they need to successfully pursue a career in our industry." That includes a search of potential employers by zip code or other attributes.

It’s a good move for Industrial Careers Pathway as it is continually evolves to find the right approach to draw more young people into industrial distribution.

Employers can also access information about how they can get involved, as well. In the top-right corner of industrialcareerspathway.org, click on For Employers.

Associations that support ICP as Alliance Partners: PTDA, American Supply Association, Bearing Specialist Association, Industrial Supply Association, the International Association of Plastics Distribution, and the National Fluid Power Association. Four associations are classified as "supporters": FPDA Motion + Control Network, HALO/HARDI, NAHAD and the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors.
