Air Products (NYSE: APD), Allentown, PA, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30, 2012, of $2.3 billion, a 5 percent decrease over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 48 percent to $484.5 million.

For the first nine months of the fiscal year, sales were $7 billion, a 2.3 percent decrease from the prior-year period. Profit increased 14.4 percent to $1 billion.
