Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG), Radnor, PA, reported sales for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013, of $5 billion, an increase of 4 percent from the prior year. Organic sales increased 3 percent. Profit increased 8.8 percent to $340.9 million.
For the fourth quarter, sales were $1.3 billion, an increase of 2 percent over the prior year. Organic sales were flat to the prior-year quarter. Profit decreased 2.1 percent to $86.1 million.
“While uncertainty is likely to persist for our customers in the near term, we remain very optimistic about the long-term prospects for the U.S. manufacturing and energy industries, as well as non-residential construction,” said Michael L. Molinini, Airgas president and CEO.
