Three of the top building materials & construction distributors grew in April, with two of them bolstering their portfolios through acquisitions and one opening a new branch.
BMC Stock Holdings Inc., Atlanta, GA, No. 9 on MDM's 2016 list of the Top Building Materials & Construction Distributors, acquired two companies – Texas Plywood & Lumber Co. Inc., Grand Prairie, TX, and Code Plus Components LLC, Martinsburg, WV.
TexPly supplies production millwork and doors for single-family and multifamily residential construction in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, metropolitan area. And Code Plus serves residential homebuilders throughout Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Both acquisitions expand BMC's product portfolio in their respective regions.
SRS Distribution, McKinney, TX, a roofing distribution holding company that was tied for No. 10 on last year's Top Building Materials & Construction Distributors list, acquired Kohl Building Products, a family-owned regional distributor whose primary market is central Pennsylvania and Maryland.
And ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, WI, the second-biggest building materials & construction distributor by revenue, opened a branch in Manchester, CT, the company's 10th location in Connecticut.
