Barnes Group Inc. (NYSE: B), Bristol, CT, an international industrial and aerospace manufacturer and service provider, reported sales for the second quarter of $322.1 million, a 20.5 percent increase year-over-year. Organic sales increased 6 percent. The company reported a profit of $30.2 million, compared to a profit of $209.3 million in the second quarter of 2013.
“Our primary end-markets remain favorable, and the recent acquisitions of Männer and Synventive delivered excellent results," said Patrick Dempsey, president and CEO.
Aerospace sales were $109.3 million, up 12.9 percent year-over-year. Industrial sales were $212.8 million, up 24.7 percent, with organic sales up 2.2 percent.
Year-to-date sales were $634.2 million, up 19.4 percent over the prior-year period. The company reported a profit of $53 million over the first six months of the year, compared to a profit of $222.8 million in the first half of 2013.
