By Segment
Carlisle Construction Materials third quarter sales of $442.2 million increased by 25 percent from the same period in 2010. On Aug. 1, 2011, CCM acquired PDT, a Germany-based provider of single-ply roofing membrane in Europe, contributing 4 percent to net sales.

Carlisle Transportation Products third quarter sales of $164.6 million increased by 5 percent in a year-over-year comparison. Carlisle Brake & Friction sales for the quarter increased from $29.2 million in third quarter 2010 to $126.6 million in the third quarter 2011, with $86.2 million attributable to the segment’s Hawk acquisition. Organic sales growth was 36 percent.

Carlisle Interconnect Technologies third quarter sales of $75.7 million increased 23 percent from the same period of the prior year. The increase reflects sales growth in the aerospace market of 38 percent, partially offset by sales declines in the defense market.

Carlisle FoodService Products third quarter sales of $61.4 million were 3.6 percent lower compared to the third quarter 2010. The reduction was primarily due to lower demand and pricing pressure within the healthcare market.
