In the construction sector, seasonally adjusted production in the euro area (EA17) fell by 1.4 percent and by 1.3 percent in the EU27 in January 2013, according to the first estimates released by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
In December 2012, production was up 0.3 percent in the euro area but down by 0.6 percent in the EU27.
Compared with January 2012, production in January 2013 dropped by 7.3 percent in the euro area and by 8 percent in the EU27.
